Dress Code Policy Effective November 10, 2025

Doyon will reinstate our Dress Code Policy effective Monday, November 10, 2025. Doyon’s dress code policy is outlined in section 304 of Doyon’s Personnel Policy in detail. In 2023, Doyon relaxed its dress code standards to allow for more flexibility. However, it’s important that we maintain a professional appearance that reflects our organization’s values and work environment.

Key Points of the Dress Code Policy

  • Employees are expected to dress professionally in business casual attire.
  • Clothing should be neat, clean, and appropriate for a professional workplace.
  • In recognition and respect of our cultural heritage, Alaska Native attire is considered appropriate and welcome in the workplace. This includes garments, jewelry, and other cultural expressions of identity.
  • Not allowed are jeans, t-shirts, tennis shoes, and similar attire, except when it is required to perform the work that has been assigned that day.  Clothing for the beach, yard work, dance clubs, or evening wear, and exercising (including leggings, stirrup pants, crocs, flip-flops, and anything similar), are not allowed under the policy.  Dresses and skirts should be at least knee length.  Clothing that reveals excessive skin (legs, back, chest, stomach, or underwear) is not appropriate.
  • “Jeans Friday” is the exception to the dress code.  Employees are allowed to wear denim/jeans with dress shoes and business casual tops.  Jeans must not have holes or tears, be too tight or baggy.  Jeans day will not be observed when the Board of Directors meets on-site or if staff are meeting with customers.
  • Employees can be expected to be sent home to change if not dress appropriately.  Continued violations will result in corrective action.

We ask that employees review and adhere to the policy starting Monday, November 10, 2025. Supervisors and Human Resources are available to answer any questions about what is considered appropriate under Doyon’s dress code.

BlackBerry AtHoc

To strengthen our emergency communication, we are rolling out BlackBerry AtHoc, a secure notification system that will allow us to reach all employees quickly during critical events.

What this means for you:

  • You will receive important alerts via email, text message, and desktop pop-ups.
  • Messages will include urgent safety updates and safety instructions, operational disruptions such as IT outages or utility interruptions, parking lot changes, or time-sensitive reminders.
  • You may be asked to acknowledge receipt of messages, so we know you are safe, or if you need help.

What you need to do:

  1. To keep you informed, we strongly encourage all users to provide their best contact number for the alert system.
    1. If you have a company-issued cell phone, that number has already been added to the system, and you will receive alerts on your company phone.
    2. If you would like to receive alerts on a personal phone, please update your contact information using the self-service portal in AtHoc or by contacting the IT Support line at 907-459-2005 for assistance.
  2. You will automatically receive alerts on your work computer through the AtHoc desktop platform, which is already installed on all company computers.

Thank you for helping us keep our workplace safe and connected.

If you have questions, contact the IT Department at 907-459-2005 or the Communications Department at 907-459-2097.
